A Studio Between

Is a London-based studio working between Interiors and Architecture, Furniture and Art practice to create personal, impactful and beautiful spaces for living. Bridging the practical and the poetic.

The studio is led by Richard J McConkey, former Head of Hospitality at Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby’s Universal Design Studio. With almost two decades of experience, Richard has designed and delivered award-winning projects for global clients such as Villa Copenhagen, Frieze Art Fair, Ace Hotel & At Six in Stockholm.

Intuitive, open and progressive, the studio approaches design with the belief that care translates.

Current projects include an Art fair in London and New York, a furniture range for a Scandinavian manufacturer, and a 220 room hotel with over 2,000 sqm of public accessible spaces in a European capital.

Our ambition is to drive world-class design, but in a quietly radical way.
