As part of our Frieze commission, Sessions Arts Club returns for its second volume. Conceived as a cinematic and dramatic refuge from the intensity of the fair, the restaurant space draws on themes of contrast, and the studio.
Using light as its primary material, the space is deliberately transformed. Lined in three weights of raw, untreated artist’s canvas, the space acts as soft enclosures of deep diffused shadow, ranging from cool to amber light. Internal timber facades, referencing modernist spatial structures, draw in light from different angles.
